“The Angelus” by Jean-Francois Millet (1859)

The Angelus is a brief devotional prayer in honor of the Incarnation, consisting of three short Bible verses and three Hail Marys. It is a way for people to sanctify the day by praying it in the morning, at noon and in the evening. I offer a short reflection on how praying the Angelus acts as a reminder to surrender to the Lord throughout the day.
